Oggetto: [Chapters] Wikimedia Foundation Elections (Board of Trustees and FDC) - Affiliate Staff and Contractor voting

A: Wikimedia Chapters general discussions chapters@wikimedia.ch chapters@wikimedia.ch Hi All!
I apologize for sending this to a couple different lists. I wanted to make sure we got it to as many eligible voters as possible especially those who may not qualify as an editor (the main "automatic" voter list we have the ability to create) since they will get reminder emails early next week. If you could forward this email to anyone in your staff who needs it please do so!
As you may already know the Election Committee for the Wikimedia Foundation Elections https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/1.%20https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2017 this year decided that the Staff and Contractors of Wikimedia Affiliates (including Chapters, User Groups and Thematic Organizations) should be eligible to vote in Foundation Board of Trustee and FDC Elections . This is similar to the already existing rule that Wikimedia Foundation Staff and Contractors qualify to vote. *In order to qualify they will have to have been employed since before April 1st 2017. *
Because we are not able to easily identify all affiliate user accounts that would be qualified we need to manually add eligible usernames to the list of eligible voters. This is not a difficult process and can usually be done quickly but we need a bit of information from you before we can do that:
- Any qualified individual can reach out to either myself or Joe
Sutherland (copied in) and ask to be added to the eligibility list. They can also reach out to the election committee mailing list at board-elections@lists.wikimedia.org board-elections@lists.wikimedia.org.
- It would be best if you can send the email from a work address but
if you don't have one if the can what organization and point to a location we can verify your employment.
- Make sure to include the username that needs to be added (you don't
know how often people forget :) )
If you want to send us one email for the entire organization that is also acceptable (whichever is easiest for YOU we'll make it work). We have already had multiple chapters do this already.
Thanks in advance for all the help you can provide and I apologize for the hassle in needing to get 'on the list'. Voting for the Foundation Board will run through the end of Sunday May 14th 23:59 UTC. The Funds Dissemination Committee nominations will open at that time with voting running from June 3-11.
As always please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I've included some links and information at the bottom of this email about the election itself and how to vote.

Note: While there is a language change bar on the ballot for the best experience you may want to consider changing your user language on Meta. This will automatically send SecurePoll (the voting system) your language when you go to vote. You can do this either through your preferences or the universal language selector http://prntscr.com/f4qh7g to the left of your username. Clicking on a election voting banner (on a wiki in your language) will also have this effect automatically.
