Grazie Elena _____ After the success of OAI12 and its attendance of over 1400 people worldwide, the conference will once again be taking place *online* from 4th to 8th of September 2023 and will feature sessions on: - Implementing the UNESCO recommendations on Open Science - Ownership of scholarly infrastructure - Research Evaluation - Open Science in times of conflict - Diamond Open Access OAI meetings have become well-known in Europe and beyond since their inception in 2001 <https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Foai.event…>. They started as a small community of those interested in innovation in scholarly communication and have grown into pan-European Workshops which act as a focus for technical, policy, academic and practical developments in scholarly communications activity – particularly Open Science. In 2022, as society emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic, Open Science is becoming part of the ‘new normal’ in many parts of the world. The ability to share data and information openly during the pandemic allowed people to see the full potential of Open Science. The session topics of the OAI13 Workshop have been chosen by the session leads as key themes in the Open Science debate. Discussion in committee has refined the topics and session leads have been able to ensure that the week-long programme constitutes a rounded selection of themes and topics. Calls to the community for papers and posters aim to identify leading new developments which will form a fitting part of the OAI13 programme. Hanno un questionario e servono piú risposte da ricercatrici/ori universitarie/i, bibliotecarie/i, esperte/i legali ecc. The Copyright Unit in DG CONNECT have commissioned a study that will support the Impact Assessment for the review of the Database Directive <https://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:31996L0009:EN:…>. This study includes a survey. The intermediate results show a lack of input from a research and innovation perspective. The survey is directly feeding the study to support the above-mentioned Impact Assessment. The *deadline *foreseen by 30 July has now been extended to the *6 August.* The Commission is aware of the extremely tight deadline and that many might be on holidays and would welcome replies from as many individuals knowledgeable of the topic as possibleo (e.g. librarians, legal advisors etc.) even if the answers can't be provided on behalf of an institution (the deadline may be too tight to get internal approval). Dissemin is a tool to detect research articles behind paywalls and to help their authors upload them in an open repository. Dissemin is an [https://gitlab.com/dissemin/dissemin open-source project] with various contributors, organized as a [https://association.dissem.in/index.html.en non-profit]. === Profile of the candidate === The applicant should be familiar with or ready to learn the following technologies: * the Python programming language; * the Django Web application framework; * the PostgreSQL database management system; * RESTful Web APIs; * processing of large datasets. The applicant should be familiar with an open-source development workflow (basics of Git, merge requests, proficiency in technical English) and willing and interested to work in an academic environment on a project related to academic publishing. The candidate should be able to work autonomously, in interaction with a remote team of developers. The applicant should hold a Master or engineering diploma in a field related to computer science or computer engineering. Candidates holding a PhD on a relevant topic are also welcome, with the experience of the PhD recognized and useful for the project. The applicant need not be French-speaking. === Tasks === The role of the engineer will be to turn Dissemin from a proof-of-concept work into a production-ready tool, in particular to be used by French researchers to help them deposit their works on open-access platforms, as required by their employers or funders.
