Qualcuno vuole scrivere per "This Month in GLAM"? From: Romaine Wiki <romaine_wiki(a)yahoo.com> Date: 2012/10/10 Subject: [Wiki Loves Monuments] Who is willing to write an article about WLM? To: wikilovesmonuments(a)lists.wikimedia.org Hello all Who is willing to write an article about Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 for the newsletter 'This Month in GLAM'? For the next edition of this newsletter several people in several countries write about what is going on with GLAM the past month, and that includes WLM. This would be nice to have for each participating country (at least a short summary with the results, but can be longer) and in an overview article. A first start with the contents can be found on the page linked below. Here you can add also countries which aren't listed yet. https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter/October_2012/Contents Earlier articles in the newsletter 'This Month in GLAM' were: https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter/February_2012/Contents/… and: https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter/August_2012/Contents/Wi… The main page of the newsletter is at: https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter If there are any questions: feel free to ask! Categoria impazzita?
by Valerio Barbaking 13 Ott '12

Barbaking

Fwd: [Wiki Loves Monuments] 2013 - wanted: volunteers for the coordinating team
by Cristian Consonni 12 Ott '12

12 Ott '12

Qualcuno vuole dare una mano? C ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Lodewijk <lodewijk(a)effeietsanders.org> Date: 2012/10/11 Subject: [Wiki Loves Monuments] 2013 - wanted: volunteers for the coordinating team To: Wiki Loves Monuments Photograph Competition <wikilovesmonuments(a)lists.wikimedia.org> Hi all, 2012 has been the second year that we have an international Wiki Loves Monuments competition, and it is quite a ride! While we're not finished yet with this years competition, it is probably good to look forward to 2013. A number of countries have indicated they would love to join next year. Some who have already participated this year, some who will be joining for the first time. Some who participated this year, but not to the extent they would have liked to. But for a smooth organization, we will need a dedicated volunteer team for the international coordination. This year the team consisted from Maarten (Multichill), Elke (Elya), Tomasz (Odder) and myself with the valuable support of Barbara who was working from the Wikimedia Deutschland office. At least a few of this team have indicated that they are unlikely to help coordinate to the same level as this year. Lets put it bluntly: without coordinating team, there will be no international competition for Wiki Loves Monuments in 2013. So the question is... are there any volunteers? Maybe you wonder what this coordinating is all about. Most of it is stuff that others will never see. Talking with network partners, keeping track of status and documentation, a whole bunch of technical stuff in tool- and database maintenance and also a lot of knowledge transfer to local teams (chats, meetings, workshops). The time it costs can vary widely, but should not be underestimated (I think a few hundred hours is on the lower side). Of course the more skills and people, the less work per person. Would you be interested? Just drop me a note or ask some questions on this list, in a chat or somewhere else. We don't need to make this decision right now - but if we want another WLM international - we will need to get started with budget requests pretty soon thanks to the more complicated budget allocation rules we're facing. I'm happy to help get that done - but only if I'm confident that there will be a great team once again :) I'm looking forward to any questions or emails on this topic. [Wiki Loves Monuments] Wiki Loves Monuments 2011 officially broke world record
by Andrea Zanni 09 Ott '12

From: Lodewijk <lodewijk(a)effeietsanders.org> Date: Tue, Oct 9, 2012 at 10:11 AM Subject: [Wiki Loves Monuments] Wiki Loves Monuments 2011 officially broke world record To: Wiki Loves Monuments Photograph Competition < wikilovesmonuments(a)lists.wikimedia.org> Hi all, We have seen it coming for a while, but now it is official: Wiki Loves Monuments has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the Worlds Largest Photography Competition! With 168,208 submissions we squashed the previous record by roughly 50%. For 2012 we will likely squash our own record, but it will need some time to become official. Please find the blog post on the Wiki Loves Monuments blog here: http://www.wikilovesmonuments.org/wiki-loves-monuments-2011-officially-brok… Thank you all for making this possible! It was a great journey and I am very glad that all your work gets some extra touch this way! Dario

Primi numeri impazziti
by Emma Tracanella 02 Ott '12

02 Ott '12

Emma
