Hello everyone,
I recently became Wikimedian in Residence as part of the Linked Data for Production project https://wiki.duraspace.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=104568167 (LD4P). One of the goals of the project is understanding how libraries can contribute to and better integrate library metadata with Wikidata to improve access to library resources on the web. Wikidata offers exciting possibilities for libraries to more easily become a part of the linked data landscape, share and reuse data, and discover new relationships and connections. A number of institutions that are part of the grant are working on projects involving Wikidata and we decided to start an interest group with biweekly meetings to discuss various aspects of Wikidata in support of the projects. Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 4th. We'll be talking about Wikidata related presentations at the LD4 Conference on Linked Data in Libraries. Please join us if you are interested.
