Re: [Bibliotecari] Linking from Wikipedia articles to local library resources
Buona giornata Susanna

Hello,
Thanks for your suggestions. I had a look at the catalogs you suggested, and it appears that many of the English-language headings that my service uses do not appear in these catalogs, or only appear on a deceptively small number of records.
Given that, I'm inclined to think that adding these libraries to my (English-oriented) service would be more misleading than helpful to most readers, as my links would miss most of the relevant content in those libraries. I will therefore skip adding them now, at least until I can take advantage of data that would tell me what corresponding Italian language headings would be.
I see that the Italian Wikipedia has over 1 million articles, and I would be very happy to see a similar service offered for the Italian Wikipedia that could link to these and other libraries. While I don't have the time to create such a service myself, I do plan to publish the data and the code I use to create the English Wikipedia service, and perhaps that might be helpful to someone who wants to create a similar service that handles Italian-language content and libraries.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help right now, but I thank you for your suggestions, and hope that something useful for you will come out of this eventually.
Thanks,
John Mark Ockerbloom Editor, Forward to Libraries service
Brava Susanna, ottima idea scrivergli direttamente. Quindi al momento siamo fermi, dato che si parla soltanto di biblioteche americane. Appena pubblica il codice possiamo tentare di localizzarlo. Direi che ci segniamo tutti questa cosa e proviamo a vedere gli aggiornamenti.
